Community Garden of Wintrange

Where plants and friendships grow in community

In 2023, the municipality of Schengen, in cooperation with its integration commission, will launch a new project for its residents in Wintrange. A community garden will be set up by the municipality itself, which will be ready for cultivation from March 2023 and for which the first interested parties are now being sought in advance.

Everyone who enjoys gardening is welcome in the community garden. The seeds are sown, tended and harvested together. Not only do fruits, vegetables and flowers grow, but also a sense of community and good neighbourliness develop. Urban gardening creates sustainable and liveable city districts with green oases as well as intercultural meeting places for young and old, making this project interesting for people who do not have their own garden due to their living situation.

The gardens that are set up may only be equipped with facilities that correspond to their purpose. This means that only light constructions such as a garden house, in which tools and possibly small objects can be stored, or games for children (such as a swing) are allowed. Fences must consist of wooden fences and hedges.
